I've got two iProntos here (one has a bad display but otherwise works) and for the past month or so they've both been working fine - no crashes and the nightly EPG updates do work. However, the updates do take quite a while and tend to happen too late in the morning (they really should run from 3-5AM at latest). Rebooting should only take a few minutes though, not hours. If you press the RESET button and it takes hours to reboot, then you need to force a firmware update.
