I am not familar with each particular Dish system, but there is lots of info on them. First did you try the preprogrammed codes? Do a search on dish here and in the pronto board and you'll find out what your problem is. What you're hoping is that you dish is IR and UHF. Some do only UHF and if that's the case your out of luck. On some of the older models you have to disable the UHF before the IR will work. I don't know if you have to change something on the remote for it to work in IR as well. Part of the change is taking off the antenna on the back of your reciever. There is something else but I don't remember. Like I said, do a search. Its been addressed before. If you have money though, just get a PVR 501. Learning is no problem and you will absoulutely love its features. It OEM remote isn't to shabby either.
