took it apart - ribbon cable connecting touchscreen to pcb board has cracked breaking three of the 4 lines connecting it. Looks like a really flimsy design :( - I'm gonna try and repair it myself, I can get a "new" refurbished neo for $80 anyways. It was more than a year old.
