Hm. My Neo touchscreen is not responding. I tried resets, firmware updates, nothing - nada.

It was a refurbished unit, bought it probably 1 year back. Should I try for a repair or just can it and go elsewhere?

You should find out the date that you purchased it. It may still be under warranty with Philips.

took it apart - ribbon cable connecting touchscreen to pcb board has cracked breaking three of the 4 lines connecting it. Looks like a really flimsy design :( - I'm gonna try and repair it myself, I can get a "new" refurbished neo for $80 anyways. It was more than a year old.

I've had 2 of these units do this, no particular issue with droppomg them or anything like that.
My first unit lasted 1 year and i was so pleased with it i got another(ecost.com) but this only lasted 1 week.

I have tried and tried but just cant recalibrate due to touchscreen issues after resetting the units.
(Have flashed firmware etc to no avail)

Has anyone any insight as to why these units obviously
have this built in defect and anyway at all to rectify ?????

Where can you get one for $80 at?
Mine did this too wednesday night. The lcd just stopped working all of a sudden, after a year of use. I figure it will be cheaper to just buy another one.

Mine broke, second time now. First time I had Philips repair at cost of $75. This time I think I'll buy new and hope they've fixed whatever design flaw with the case edge that is causing this.

1. Does Philips even produce these anymore? I've only seen refurbs.

2. I seriously doubt that Philips spent one second or one cent re-engineering this "budget" remote.

I was able to repair mine using a circuit trace pencil !! You can get these at electronics or computer stores. I got mine at Microcenter.

Three of the ribbons were cracked so I used the pencil to bridge the circuit. Let dry overnight, re-assembled and it's been working fine now for over a month.
