Your Logi guy is right about one thing, that getting discrete commands that the original remote doesn't have is a bonus, a big one in my case regarding TV inputs.
It does make sense though that your TV may not be happy with the idea, and may not respond consistently, so it looks as if fine tuning the power and delay settings on the toggle is your best answer.
