When you select Watch TV it should automatically turn on the TV and DVR if you have the TV and DVR power setup correctly. Same if you choose watch DVD - DVD and TV should power on. Whatever is on should power off when you hit the OFF button.
IF it's not doing that then something is wrong in the configuration. What exactly doesn't work?
