I think I understand OP, and my Watch TV activity, always selects the input from my DVR and I had thought I don't need to do that because it's always there. BUT..I realized that if I'm using the WATCH DVD activity, the remote nicely changed the TV input to my DVD player. When I'm done watching the movie, I just hit watch TV again, and it changes the input back to the DVR input as needed. For me, it's worth a few second blip while it changes inputs.
