Hi Johnsfine

Thanks for the reply.
The URC2 is a universal remote made by Xantech. It comes with software called "Dragon Drop" (Drag and drop). I hace a serial cable from COM1 to the remote. In learn mode I postition the two remotes head to head and learn each command. I can't see the code it just shows a star to confirm that it has learned the code.
If you would like a copy let me know.

There is a second way that I can enter a code which invovles copy and paste of the hex code.

I cannot use the device number (example 015)

Do you know of any way that I could capture codes and see the hex code? I think this would be useful when things just don't work right. What software and hardware would I need?

There is also a feature of this software that allows me to import CCF files but I find this frustrating?
Maybe I should spend a little time in this area to understand it more.

I do have working codes for the Motorola cable box. I was surprised that they didn't work. The Xantech site has a *.pal file for the GI box that I will download and try.

The *.pal files are a collection of all the remote codes for a particular device.

For info the Xantech site is www.xantech.com
The remote software is the "450URC" or something close to that.

Regards
John
