I'm not sure I can agree with you on that one. I think picture quality is #1, tempered by price. That's why I bought the WD6UY in the 1st place.
While I'm unhappy with some of the discretes missing, I doubt it would have been a deal-breaker for me. Power off and on, and aspect controls all work from the 5UY.
All that being said, I can't imagine why Panasonic would want to withhold these from us.
Are there documented cases where a manufacturer has some secret agenda to hide discretes?
My worry is that they don't exist. I'm a little scared to try 1000's of codes to my plasma and risk hitting some EEPROM erase code.
If Panasonic could just tell us it would be nice.
