I was the one who emailed you. :) I actually managed to figure out what was going on through a little more research piecing together info from a few web pages.

My method: Take 2 digit hex code. Use the calculator app (WinXP) in scientific mode to convert to decimal. Cross reference this number (OBC?) @ [Link: hifi-remote.com] to find the 3 digit number (EFC?) for your OFA remote. I used setup code 0702 since 0060 requires me to keep pressing Vol +- to raise or lower instead of holding it down.
