Hi,
I have a universal remote control that does both IR and RF (Denon Aktis) and I want to make it use RS-232 to control my Panasonic 50" plasma TV.
Here's my idea: Get a programmable IR to RS-232 gateway that will receive an IR command of my choosing and convert it to an RS-232 command of my choosing and send it out a DB9 connector to a serial cable hooked up to my TV.
I've scoured the web for such a device but have only found the Xantech IR-DC4 which seems to be specialized for control of a specific device.
Question: Are their any generic programmable IR to RS232 gateway products out there?
Any help would be appreciated. -Don Woodward
