The Hughes HD has discreet HD on and off. Pressing the action button then the input will give you one of the HD commands, the next time you press those buttons it will give you the other HD command. WIth a Pronto or other macro capable remote you can get an HD on and off command to work and I have even been able to learn them into a single button on Pioneer remotes by pressing the input button while the action command is still being learned by the remote. There is no discreet power for the Hughes but we just leave the sat receiver on all the time. RCA DTC100s have most disceet commands and are still available on Ebay.
