It's my understanding that having a CRT facing downward diminishes the life of the tube. (Something about particulates from the deteriorating electron guns raining down on the phosphors...?) True or not, I suppose that any dentist worth his/her cotton cheek wadding won't have any troubled replacing the TV periodically.
