What EEJAY wants to do is find a way around having to use the knob on the Yamaha front panel to select recording source. He wants to be able to do it by using his Pronto instead, so he doesn't have to approach the receiver.

He wants to leave the recording selector to VCR 2, and use the Zone 2 output, which can be selected using a remote, and thereby be able to record whatever is selected as Zone 2 source. It seems to me that it should work as long as he never selects VCR 2 as recording source.
