What TV is it. You say when you use the S-video connection on the front of the TV the picture comes out fine (is this correct?), but you wish to use S-video (Receiver end) to SCART (Television end).
If this is correct then your television must accept S-VHS on the SCART input. The most common SCART connector for S-VHS is AV2 (Panasonic, Sony, Philips etc) i.e. the second scart socket only as all the others will come out black and white. Check that this is the case or have I misread your post?
