Sorry my orginal post was wrong.. long time since ive looked at my cabling.!!

Any way this is the correct layout and problem.

TV connected to Receiver via Scart to svideo
NTLDigibox connected to Reciver via scart to svideo cable, works fine.
Video Connected to NTLDigibox via scart to scart, works fine
DVD Connected to Receiver via svideo to svideo, pictures comes out in black and white. same problem if i try different svideo connector on back of receiver. therefore i know its not the svideo port
If DVD is connected to TV via same svideo to svideo cable comes out in colour. - therefore know its not the cable

Ok i dont want the receiver connected to the tv via svideo,(which would sort the problem out) because the connection is on the front of the tv, therefore i have to connect it to the tv via a svideo to scart cable.

whats going on.. i guess this is a common problem, but havent a clue how to solve it..

Thanks

John.

As I look at this post, see how long it has been since it originally was posted, and do not understand the cabling since I do not use SCART at all, all I can think of is:

Ask the same question at avsforum.com, and I wish you luck (not meant sarcastically).

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Johnny,

What TV is it.
You say when you use the S-video connection on the front of the TV the picture comes out fine (is this correct?),
but you wish to use S-video (Receiver end) to SCART (Television end).

If this is correct then your television must accept S-VHS on the SCART input.
The most common SCART connector for S-VHS is AV2 (Panasonic, Sony, Philips etc) i.e. the second scart socket only as all the others will come out black and white.
Check that this is the case or have I misread your post?

Let me know how you get on.

Chris.

Glad I could help.

I'm usually better with the UK / European stuff.
