Sorry my orginal post was wrong.. long time since ive looked at my cabling.!!

Any way this is the correct layout and problem.

TV connected to Receiver via Scart to svideo
NTLDigibox connected to Reciver via scart to svideo cable, works fine.
Video Connected to NTLDigibox via scart to scart, works fine
DVD Connected to Receiver via svideo to svideo, pictures comes out in black and white. same problem if i try different svideo connector on back of receiver. therefore i know its not the svideo port
If DVD is connected to TV via same svideo to svideo cable comes out in colour. - therefore know its not the cable

Ok i dont want the receiver connected to the tv via svideo,(which would sort the problem out) because the connection is on the front of the tv, therefore i have to connect it to the tv via a svideo to scart cable.

whats going on.. i guess this is a common problem, but havent a clue how to solve it..
