I have a job in about 3 months which will require a 42" Plasma. I've decided on Fujitsu but should I use an HD(1024x1024)set or the 852x480 model. The signal source will be an HD cable box with most channels in analog. The HD plasmas I have seen look worse with analog cable signals than analog crt sets do. The other difference in the sets is a 500:1 contrast ratio on the HD unit but a 1500:1 ratio on the cheaper model. The lower resolution model also is 40% brighter. Has anyone seen these models with analog cable or will there be no difference except when viewing an HD source? Will a Farouda scaler improve the crummy cable pix?
