We use Premier Mounts from Progressive Marketing here in Southern California, and they are great. Only trouble I ever had with one was a plasma mount that needed to be really shallow and it came in something like 4.7" deep while the drawing and the factory insisted that it was 4.3" deep.
I also second the Chief mounts, though.
The ball and sockets, although cool and patented, I leave for speakers where a tiny bit of drift will not require a service call.
