Hi -

I'm having a helluva time getting the Zone 2 on the Denon AVR-3803 to work properly. I just installed a new system, and planned on using the Surround Back amps in Zone 2 mode for outdoor speakers.

Receiver works fine in all modes except Zone 2. I've done the redundant audio connection for Zone 2 from the DVD player, so that's not the problem.

What happens is that I lose the "Variable" volume option in the receiver setup every time I assign the amp to Zone 2. The variable option is there if I assign the amp to Back surround. I need variable for zone 2!!!

The only volume I get from Zone 2 is a fixed volume - whatever the receiver was set at.

What am I doing wrong? It's a good thing it's winter and my clients aren't outside, 'cause they're getting a little annoyed with me, and I'm pretty frustrated.

By the way, I just want to say that this forum has helped me a lot - I've been in the biz for about 18 months now, and I learn a lot from reading the posts, and the Home Theater Master files rock.

Thanks in advance.
