This client fought tooth and nail against the price of a wireless touchpanel on the advice of a dealer in Florida that did his winter home with a color pronto, so he has a color Pronto w/ RF (I wouldn't back down on that) and the Faroudja that he desperately wanted that has now proven practically worthless without full serial control.
I have already conceded that I will put in a Xantech IRS-232 module for the additional functionality.

I have worked with this Xantech piece in the past to make a Fireball operate reliably with K2 keypads. The Escient IR codes didn't work reliably for a long time so I went serial with the Xantech box, which is bulletproof.
