Hmmm...this is a strange situation. Legally, I don't think Monster Cable has a leg to stand on. In addition, the legal expenses for Snow Monsters wouldn't need to be dragged out. A situation like this should be open and shut. If the US Patent & Trademark Office has no basis to let this drag out, why would it?
This sounds like a very peculiar move and peraps a dramatic publicity stunt to make Monster a household name. Look at Enron and Martha Stewart. You may or may not have heard of them 7 years ago, but since they made some extremely poor decisions, NOW everyone knows of them. What happened as a result? Exploitation of the publicity. "The Women of Enron" issue of Playboy and Martha Stewart getting a new TV series when she is released.
Just remember a couple of things...
- The squeaky wheel gets the grease
- The place it hurts most to kick a businessman is in his wallet
