I'll be surprised if single-chip DLP projectors cost anywhere near $1000 in the (not too distant) future - more than likely you'll see this class relagated to cheap small office products and completely vanish for theater use. Most of these things are low-tech by today's standards and the only reason they can charge as much as they do is because they're not mainstream. It blows me away that some of these projectors still cost over $10K.
