Everyone can see color separation on DLPs that don't employ some method of masking it (the majority of products). You just need to move your head/eyes the slightest bit - talk, chew, glance to the side, etc.
I was extremely impressed with Epson's 3LCD technology at CES this year. So much so that I wouldn't even look at a DLP product given the choice on otherwise comparable equipment.
