I solved the IR learning problems with the MX-900 by teaching codes into an old Pronto first then using the universal browser to import it into the URC editor. Why is it no problem teaching codes into an old Pronto but a problem with what should be a more advanced MX-900?
By the way I have a NAD tuner in an installation, which has to be reprogrammed when the power goes out. May switch to a Sherbourn tuner if it keeps happening - assuming it will be able to keep presets. Haven't had to reprogram a Sherwood receiver but now I'm paranoid. It's supposed to be a comparable option if you can't go with Denon or Yamaha so I'm dissapointed every time I find out it lacks some standard features.
