We have been huge fans and sellers of the original Intellicontrol. Currently we are hesitant on the IC2 which is the Intellicontrol's replacement.
We have a dozen in the field or so. The early releases needed upgrades and had battery problems. My programmers/installers have become disenchanted. I really like the hard key format however! I think for the over 50 set it makes sense. The average head of household is over 50 now. Touch panels like the MX3000 and others are just small IMHO.
You can operate the IC2 without even looking at it.
Today I notice that there seems to be a rather long delay between key presses and sending the command. Some have indicated that is due to the Zigbee transmission used by the IC2. Of course zigbee eliminates interference common to Universal and other 418mhz remotes but delayed response is a serious problem.
I really want to get the IC2 to meet our needs,,but we are stongly considering RTI. WE use quite a few Universals as well.
Anyone with any insight on the future of the IC2? Pending improvements?
Thanks
