All the AD5 range will respond to power on/off over RS232,
but you need to enable it in the hidden service menu

The installer menu is made up of lots and lots of visually
meaningless codes - play here at your peril!!

Ask sharp tech support for procedure to enter service
mode and change the setting. They may ask you to sign
a disclaimer so that if you screw with the wrong settings
then they can charge you to put it right.

I do not have the procedure to hand but may be able to
get it later from one of the engineers if you have no
joy.

We are succesfully controlling 20", 26", 32" and 37" AD5E
sets over RS232, so iI know it works

@Nick-ISI, you can be a life(r) saver if you could post here that procedure (service menu) for 37" AD5E. I've tried hard to solve this problem (it's very annoying, because I have a media center PC permanently connected to my tv set) but no success. I have even tried to contact sharp-europe tech department but they just sent me from one department to another with no further answer..

@karlennis, did you found anything in the mean time?! Sorry for no replying, I've just lost any hope regarding this issue so I've stop checking for answers..

Later Edit:
One more problem regarding 37AD5E.. I can't make it work with native resolution (1366 x 768 pixels) even if I tried to tweak the video card (I tried both the nVidia and ATI chipsets) to get this custom resolution (or a closer and more standardized one - 1360 x 768). The only acceptable working resolution (when I use HDMI input) is 720p(?) (where the image is quite blurred for text display) and 1024 x 768 when I use the VGA input (which means 3:4 aspect ratio so I have two annoying black side bars).
Any help please?
