I guess if you absolutely had to, you could use one of those IR 110v outlets, to kill power. Convert a selection to IR, trigger the outlet on, then toggle the lcd.
still though, im getting about sick of all this crap myself. They shouldn't make anything anymore without discrete commands.. I mean, how hard would it be?
