For all!
Sharp has a firmware update that will correct the problem of no rs232 on. The information provided was correct but TV needs correct firmware to recognize all commands. Took about 10 minutes to complete. Will need a SD memory card to load firmware update. Sharp knows about the problem and says tech support has been getting many calls on this.
