This worked for me. We have 13 Sharp Aquos TV's in one residential install that were driving us crazy. After being idle for awhile they'd revert to this power saving mode and wouldn't respond to the power on command. Fortunately, we found the answer here. Thanks for sharing. BTW we sent the RSPW 1 command to enable the RS232 followed by a .3 second delay b4 sending the POWR 1 command. Now the TV's are turning on all the time.
