I just installed a 32" and sharp, again, outrightly told me that there is no power on command on the new models, even over 232. I asked what the best way is to make it known to sharp that this is unnaceptable. He logged a complaint flag for the call, and I described the lack of power codes.
I would encourage all sharp dealers and distributors to take 3 minutes to call sharp and do the same, but I really don't know how effective this would be, and I know how busy everyone is....

Sometimes it feels like we need friends in higher places......
