Just to clarify... As I understand it, to qualify for Energy Star compliance, they have to turn off the 232 port when the unit is off, thereby letting the power on command fall on "deaf ears". As Impaqt said, there is a one time command to turn off the energy star 'feature', thereby allowing the "deaf ears" to hear once more...
