I used to think that buying movies was dumb, because I wouldn't watch one movie enough times to make it worthwhile. Then someone, here I think, compared the cost of a DVD with the cost of actually going to the movies. DVDs cost less unless you go solo and smuggle in your goodies.

Aside from the glorious spectacle of seeing certain body parts actually five feet high on the screen (or wide, if you like), and seeing explosions large enough that you think debris will hit you, there's not much incentive for those of us with decent systems to go to the movies except for the "first on the block" syndrome. Keeping up with what's new, a vain chase at best, is not as good as having a movie on disc that you actually might want to see again a year from now without having to locate it online.

Guys, I hate the spelling "Blu-ray," but that's what it is. Can we please just learn it so that when we want to look up these threads in the future, we won't have to try every spelling we can think of?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
