You are probably not going to find any advanced code to allow selection of sound fields. I've looked at every code for device 0158 and 0159 and the only code that comes close is one that turns on and off surround mode. I just used the learn keys to put my favorite sound field one. Even though there are 4 L keys, you can have 8 different choices by adding SETUP before the key selection.

The section listed above that confuses you is just telling you that you might find codes that work with your receiver by (at least temporarily) assigning the device listed first with the code next to it. If you find that some of the keys in those devices work for your receiver then use the "setup 9 9 4 devicewhereitis keyyouwant devicewhereyouwantit keyyouwantiton" remaping sequence. After you get the keys mapped to your receiver device then you can set the VCR, CD< or whatever back to what you want it to be for your setup.
