I have an obscure Panasonic vcr. I found that the code '0162' on my Cinema 7 (7200) did all the play & on/off functions but the menus didn't works. For that I needed device code '0454' BUT it didn't have the above mentioned functions.

My solution was to document the advanced codes for 0454 (000->255 on a spare evening). I then programmed the advanced codes to their appropriate keys, in device 0454 mode, and then changed to device 0162. The programmed keys kept their function even when in the new device mode!

By the way, the Cinema 6 (6800) has extra device codes that my Cinema 7 didn't have! The codes 1062, 1162 and 1262 were given to me on another forum and they have a better complement of commands.
What annoys me is they weren't even documented in my manual nor are they on OFA's or hudsonag's website! I'm wondering how many other device codes in my remote are undocumented!
