I have a PV-8450 which as you have mentioned is essentially the same remote. I had the same problem on a non-learning Cinema 7 (7200) using the 0162 setup code. I took it back and bought a Cinema 6 IQ (Model 6800 - I think?). On my new Cinema 6, the code 1162 is available and works flawlessly with my VCR's menu function. 1162 is also available on the RS 15-1994 and I would also assume that it is on the Cinema 7 IQ (Mod. 7800).
