Actually, having held the Cat48 in my hand, it doesn't compare as favorably to the 1994 after all. I do like the fact that the numeric buttons and the arrow buttons have swapped places, but many of the really useful buttons that are between the volume and channel buttons on the 1994, would have to end up at the botton on the cat48 as there's only 2 or 3 buttons between the vol/ch buttons on the cat48.
If you study the Best Buy and Circuit City fliers that come in the Sunday papers, you can usually tell which receivers come with a UEIC remote. If the ad mentions a learning remote then this could be the receiver that you need to get.
Let me see if UEIC are allowed to tell me which receivers use their remotes, you know how this NDA stuff is, they might not be permitted to give out that kind of info.
