Actually, the trick for a 15-1994 is to get access to a crappy 1-way Sony remote. I walked into a electronic shop and learned the soundfield codes from a DE635 remote. I got a "merchandise slip" from security to prove the 15-1994 was mine. (AS IF Fry's carried Radio Shack stuff - but they were nice enough to let me do it.)
I got AFD, stereo, soundfield up, soundfield down, EQ on a DB940.
On a V777ES soundfield up/soundfield down commands became up/down of the 5 user selected DSP's rather than the entire list. Still not bad.
