I would think an old code would be the easiest to get. For example, my TV is a 14 year old Mitsubishi 36" tube in a wood cabinet. That was no problem. My only problem was with my new Aiaw DVD player. Just in case, buy it at a place where you can return it like BestBuy. They had the best price, anyhow
