I posted this on the "Universal Remote" forum, but still haven't received a reply, so I thought I would try it here. I have been considering the purchase of a Cinema7 remote, and am confident it will operate my television, VHS, cassette deck and DVD player. However, my question concerns my AV receiver. I have an old (1993) pro-logic Pioneer VSX-512S surround sound receiver. The problem is that the original Pioneer remote was lost. I need the special functions to test-tone the surround speakers, balance the front speakers, center channel volume control, set the delay time for the rear speakers, etc., to optimize my surround system (which may change if I move the receiver to another room, etc.) Can anyone tell me if the Cinema7 has the device codes for these functions for the Pioneer VSX-512S? I found the link to the device codes, but I can't tell from that list if these functions include the ones I need to properly operate this receiver's surround sound system. Thanks.

I would think an old code would be the easiest to get. For example, my TV is a 14 year old Mitsubishi 36" tube in a wood cabinet. That was no problem. My only problem was with my new Aiaw DVD player. Just in case, buy it at a place where you can return it like BestBuy. They had the best price, anyhow

Thanks for the reply, Ray! Hey, I also have a couple of "old" Mitsubishi TVs, one being a 13 year-old 27-inch set, and my main TV in the entertainment center is an 8 year-old 35-inch Mit. They both have great pictures, and I have no desire to "upgrade" to a newer set. Sounds like yours has been a good one for you, too. Again, thanks for the reply.
