I use it for a TV, Tivo, reciever/amp, and a DVD as well. Here is what I did to set it up:
1. Input all the device codes and make sure they were working.
2. Page 27 of the manual, they call it Volume lock it is described there in better detail than I can give, but here is a quick summary:
a. press and hold p key till the circle appears around it.
b. type 993
c. Press 'aud' button, ( or whichever device you want the volume and mute keys to always control).
I wanted the volume keys to always control the amp volume no matter what device I had active on the remote.
I also used the 'unlock' function for the tv so that I could just turn on the tv and use the standard tv volume controls (without the amp and tivo). I did this because if I am just channel surfing, the tivo tuning delay bothers me, and I don't bother with the amp for channel surfing.
