I don't see anything in you message that looks like a setup code.
If you post the setup code (device type and 4 digit number) there are several of us who would then know whether advanced codes work normally with that setup code and if not, how to get around that via JP1.
I don't know what a Denon 1602 is, so I'm just guessing that your Denon CD player is another device. If you don't have the setup code but do have JP1 you can learn a few signal from the OEM remote and download to IR.EXE and try to decode. If they don't decode in IR.EXE upload the file to the JP1 diagnosis area. (I'm working on a new decoder and I'm looking at all the samples in the diagnosis area).
