Hi,
Thanks for those ideas.
Yes, I hold the button down continuously until the LED changes from "learning" to "error".
The 2117 as I understand it is identical to the 2116 with the addition of RF support. I have tried learning on a number of keys including "play" and number keys.
Any other thoughts? I suppose it's possible the unit is defective. I'll call Radio Shack to see.
