Yes the manual does mention TIVO although I don't know which manufacturer that is. I don't have the manual in front of me now, so I don't know if it has more than one code listed. The usual Tivo code is VCR 0618.

Some JP1 cables provide power to the eeprom, some do not; it depends upon the cable design (simple, powered, etc). You would need to provide power by completing the battery circuit if the cable does not provide power to the eeprom. For others reading this that don't know the issue: the 2133 battery cover completes the connection that provides power to the remote, but the cover must be removed to access the JP1 holes (connector). Therefore accessing the JP1 connector leaves the remote and the eeprom without power.
