A setup code is a a four digit number plus a device type that you program onto a device key.

An EFC code is a three digit number (such as the 124 and 191) discussed in this thread.

To transmit a signal, the remote needs both a setup code and an EFC code. When you define a KeyMove by the steps you listed above it gets the setup code from step 5 and the EFC code from step 7.

Maybe these EFC codes aren't correct for your Sony device, or maybe the setup code wasn't correct. I don't see enough information in this thread to determine that.

BTW, an OBC number (such as the 107 and 125 discussed in this thread) represents the true form of the information that an EFC code carries in obscured form (yes I know that to a beginner they're equally obscure) and the OBC number is useless without JP1, but with JP1 may be easier to use than the EFC.
