Universals have only recently started having seperate |<< and >>| buttons, and like edmund said, the CH +/- buttons have always sufficed for this purpose.
I use a 15-2116 to control a ReplayTV where I need buttons for "Instant Replay" and "Quick Skip" (and ReplayTV also has CH+/- functions, so I can't use those) so I used the two buttons right above REW and FFWD, which are TV/VIDEO and SLEEP.
