Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

I was right! This is absolutly the best source of information for remotes.

I spent several hours again last night checking threads back as far as a year ago to try and figure this mess out. Edmund, Robman and Jim, your responses are very much appreciated. I think I'm going to go with option 3 that Jim posted above. I do not want to give up the RF capabilities, and I like the jp1 alternatives. I'm pretty good with computers and I like the idea of backing everything up also.

Best Buy lists one for ~$60. Once I get back home, I understand I still will need to call OFA customer support and get them to play a .wav file that will download the 1335, 1336, 1337 setup codes. Correct?

One other thing, I don't have (or can't find) the Sony CDP-C245 remote. So I can't learn that part. Anybody know any more codes to try, or have a link? The 6 or so that were included with the URC-300 didn't work the off/on function. A couple of the codes did actually start the PLAY function however.
