First of all the Denon Remote control reference is RC-973. Answering your questions:-
POWER
1) I power the Denon by using,it's 2 Power buttons, the right hand one is ON and the Left-hand OFF.

INPUT SELECTION
2)It has a single function button, which allows you to access; TV, DVD,Tuner, Video1 and Video2 (not necessarily in that order.) and I have used this successfully with Kameleon.

Thanks again for you help. I feel that if we can crack the Denon problem of not being able to power up, I will have the basic setup. The thought of Macros and discrete numbers, in the future, is very exciting.
