I don't know about the Marantz. But like I said the old design did withstand some drinking binges :-) just search the Pronto forum. The worst was if liquid fell between the hard buttons, but even then I have not heard of any remote dying from it (less alone a ruined screen. Some people have used cover art for their DVDs
He has around 125 jackets and 70% free (on a Pro) and the Marantz has more memory then the Pronto, the only thing to remember is that it takes a lot of work to do something like that.
