Between the ages of 13 to 16 (a good few years ago now) I had a part time job (after school) at a local jewellers shop. Nothing fancy, just a general dogsbody to run errands, sort out the post, pack things up. It did though also include my having to vacuum the carpet once the shop closed (at 5:30).

So there I was, one day, whizzing around with the ancient Hoover when I inadvertently knocked a display table, on top which was a rather large and heavy silver vase. Cue slow motion and dramatic background music. I can still see it now, the vase wobbling, teetering and then tipping towards a full length plate glass display cabinet; and me leaping full length and catching it with about an inch to spare. Didn't vacuum quite so close to the table after that.
